Hi, We’re Dave & Julie from Quebec, Canada and we’d love to share with you our trip to Sedona in September of 2008.

Come discover what we did. It was a kick!

..
....
DAY 1 -  We hiked Boynton canyon in the afternoon.
Hard rocks were softened by graceful butterflies. Julie says, “I’ll remember this place…it’s enchanting.”
DAY 2 - We rented mountain bikes at Bike & Bean in Sedona.
Biked the Bell Rock Trail East of Sedona. From there drove to Montezuma’s Castle built into a bluff overlooking Beaver Creek.
We returned to Sedona for delicious prickly pear margaritas at Telaquepaque Village.
There is  quite a variety of remarkable windmill art at this quaint shopping center. Lovely courtyard- felt like we were in old Mexico!
We decided to unwind back at Sycamore Springs.
Watched the ducks waddle across the dock. Enjoyed the sun setting behind the Briarpatch room at Sycamore Springs, before dinner at the Barking Frog Grille..
DAY 3 - We drove to the North end of Oak Creek Canyon .
What a fantastic, beautiful hike we had in West Fork of Oak Creek! The canyon displayed her beauty all along the trail
Slide Rock offered great fun as we slid through the deep fissures in the red rock of Oak Creek.!
We drove up Airport Hill and got a breathtaking view of a Sedona sunset. "After our full day of adventure,we returned to our peaceful retreat. We were always refreshed by the grounds with its many water features...
...and the wildlife on our walk through the fields.
We always looked forward to soothing our aching muscles in that wonderful hot tub. The Merritt Storybook Suite was always our sweet refuge at the close of  day.
Day 4 - We visited the famous Chapel of the Holy Cross built in the 1950’s before driving back to Oak Creek Canyon. Once again we were wowed by its beauty..
At Grasshopper Point, Dave climbed rocks and braved the cold water. Returning to Sedona, we  purchased jewelry at a roadside market and finished our day with dinner at Javelina Cantina overlooking Sedona from our patio table. Oak Creek offers another beautiful view around each bend.
DAY 5 - Began before daylight as we wrapped up in warm clothes for our big adventure in a hot air balloon. In the high desert of Northern Arizona you can see for miles. A very different terrain from Quebec.
The balloons are such wonderful colors.  We  saw a deer and a family of javelinas and a mountain lion from our safe perch! The balloon ride ended with a champagne breakfast. Then we drove several hours to Winslow to do some rock climbing Arizona style.
“You’re going to do what?” says, Julie.
“Now this was worth the drive!”
How lovely to unwind at Sycamore Springs with a Golden Retriever at day’s end
Day 6 - We drove up Mingus Mountain to the living ghost town of Jerome. The view from this old mining town is spectacular from any vantage point. This mansion was built by “Jimmy” Douglas, owner of the Little Daisy Mine in 1912.
Now an Arizona state park, it offers a mother lode of old photos and artifacts from its livelier mining days.. The former Little Daisy Hotel is very distinctive on the side of the "Black Hills".
Dave enjoyed a glass of local wine from one of several local wineries in the Verde Valley.
Visible remains of grander days on Jerome’s main St. This interesting building is known as the Powderbox church- now a private residence.
Late in the day we returned to the East side of Sedona to climb Cathedral Rock.
Can you see the people at the top of the rock and in the split? We slowly watched the sun set from Cathedral Rock.
This time of day offered a great photo opportunity for Dave to capture the wonder on Julie’s face of this amazing place called Sedona.
Julie snaps a moment in time; the reason for the climb to the top. Good night Sedona, Arizona.
Thanks so much for sharing our photo tour of Sedona and the Verde Valley.
We reluctantly leave the red rocks of Sedona for the red rocks of the Grand Canyon We were not disappointed!
....

What a beautiful adventure we had in Arizona. We'll remember it always.
